Cultural Diversity
Reflection:
As a counselor-in-training, I have learned the importance of honoring cultural diversity through openness, respect, and ongoing self-reflection. My experiences and coursework have helped me better understand how culture, religion, and personal experiences shape both clients’ worldviews and my own perspectives. I strive to approach clients with cultural sensitivity and curiosity so they feel understood and supported.
I have also become more aware of how my own cultural identity and beliefs can influence my interactions with others. This self-awareness has helped me recognize personal biases and continue growing as a culturally responsive counselor. Moving forward, I hope to continue expanding my multicultural competence through education, reflection, and diverse experiences.
