Psychological Fitness

Reflection:

My experiences as a counselor-in-training have strengthened my understanding of psychological fitness as a key component of ethical and professional practice. Through client work and supervision, I have developed greater self-awareness of how my emotional and mental well-being can impact the counseling relationship, reinforcing the importance of ongoing self-monitoring and self-care. I have grown more intentional about seeking support and using supervision as a way to maintain competence and provide effective care. At the same time, I recognize there is continued room for growth in consistently implementing preventative self-care strategies and maintaining balance during more demanding periods of clinical work. Moving forward, I plan to further develop these skills to support both my well-being and my ability to serve clients ethically and effectively.

This artifact reflects my growth as a clinical mental health counselor-in-training and my ongoing commitment to ethical, client-centered practice in alignment with the 2016 CACREP standards.
